And the saved world listened
In Severomorsk, the legendary K-21 submarine, which became a branch of the Northern Fleet Museum in the post-war period, sent a message to the radio: "Everyone! Everyone! Everyone! For the first time, the radio station RK-21 Z is on the amateur air. It is broadcast from the radio room of the K-21 submarine, which during wartime made 12 combat trips and sent 17 enemy ships to the bottom." The idea to create a collective amateur memorial radio station of the Northern Fleet on board the Red Banner submarine originated with military signalmen several years ago. The SF command supported her. And now the long-awaited and somewhat unusual event finally happened. This is unusual because there are only a few similar radio stations in our country. Now, thanks to the power of the RK-21 Z (the abbreviation stands for: Russian collective, tactical submarine number, Arctic), the whole world on short waves in amateur bands will learn about the history of the famous submarine, which in July 1942 torpedoed the battleship of the German Fleet "Tirpitz", about other exploits of the defenders of the Kola Peninsula, their military deeds. heirs. During the first day of operation of the radio station, Severomorsk residents received more than one and a half thousand "contacts". Kaliningrad, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Gomel, Morshansk, and dozens of other cities of the former Soviet Union responded to them. Radio amateurs from Western Europe, the USA, Canada, Brazil and even from the distant island of Guam contacted the RK-21 Z. Now, according to the idea of the organizers of the radio station, the K-21 submarine will "broadcast" on the air not only on holidays and memorable days for the North Sea people, but also on weekdays. page 64
